Success of the mission to South Africa by the European Advanced Textile Materials cluster EU-TEXTILE2030
EU-TEXTILE2030, the European Advanced Textile Materials cluster, has been in South Africa from November 18th to 23rd on its second business mission. The mission was oriented mainly to its participation at the International Apparel, Textile and Footwear trade exhibition ATF, from November 20th to November 22nd, 2018.
EU-TEXTILE2030 was present in the trade fair with a 9 m2 booth, located in the pavilion No 4. Seven European clusters were represented mainly by posters and catalogues of several SMEs. One cluster CLUTEX participated directly, two SMEs of their cluster were represented personally. EU-TEXTILE2030 also participated in the workshops held every day in the hall No 4 at stage. Mr. Petr Janak explained in his presentation the main goals of the EU-TEXTILE2030 cluster, introduced partners of this cluster and gave also detailed information on activities of the Czech cluster CLUTEX.
During the mission, two stakeholder meetings were held with representatives from the South Africa textile sector. The first one with NCRF, the National Clothing Retail Federation, represented by Executive Director Mr. Michael J. Lawrence, and the second meeting was realised in the frame of the Fair. Mrs. Tara Simeon represented The Cape Town College of Fashion and Design and Simeon Design, national design company awarded at AVANTEX Paris in September 2018.
