NWtexnet Appoints Director of Composites
The board of directors of NWtexnet are pleased to announce the appointment of Chris McHugh as our new Technical Director Composites.
Chris has been involved at the cutting edge of Technical Textiles R&D throughout his career. Thirty years’ experience in the automotive and aerospace sectors has made him familiar with all aspects of Woven Textile, 3 Dimensional Woven Textiles and composite production from fibre to finished product.
He has led on the development of 3D weaving capability from machinery acquisition, setup, software design and laboratory testing. As a result of working alongside key players in Universities, Aerospace Primes, Automotive OEMs, his expertise is now recognised in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Chris’s experience extends to managing UK and EU funded and non funded Research Projects, with multi-million pound programmes delivered on time and to budget. His knowledge of TSB, Innovate UK, RGF, AMSCI and Framework 7 research funding has resulted in award winning Technical Weave architectures and programs, with a number of patents in this field.
