Since 2001, AUTEX organises an annual international/global conference in which the latest developments in the textile area are highlighted. Each year hundreds of participants take part showing the importance and impact of these conferences.
AUTEX2019 will be the highlight of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Association of Universities for Textiles and also celebrates 90 years of Textiles at Ghent University.
This annual symposium started in 1972 as a Japan domestic meeting for the purpose of promoting textile research and communication between scientists and/or technologists. Today it has become an international conference on textile research covering a wide range of fields from fibre science to apparel engineering.
Participants are distinguished textile researchers; usually between 60 and 100 people from all over the world, and about 30 to 40 papers (oral and poster) are presented. Excellent poster presentations are awarded at this symposium especially for young students.
ICNF2019 will focus on “Smart Sustainable Solutions”, aiming to explore the potential of natural fibres as key materials to design smart and sustainable solutions for the future generations. To fulfil this important goal, along with the scientific sessions, the Natural Fibrenamics Award contest will be organised to promote and show new innovative natural fibre based products from all over the world.
The conference topics include:
THE 9th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF APPLIED RESEARCH ON TEXTILE AND MATERIALS
CIRAT is a scientific meeting organised by the Textile Engineering Laboratory every two years. This conference provides an international open forum for researchers from academic and industrial fields to present their original work and exchange ideas and information.
